Connie Chen

Connie Chen was born in Taiwan and came to the USA in 1993 for college. Connie has been studying Wafu Ikebana under Sensei Fusako Seiga Hoyrup since 1999 and currently holds the Wafu School’s Sanyo degree. Connie is the Vice President and Treasurer of the Wafu School of Ikebana California Chapter.  She currently teaches Ikebana Beginning Class in Cupertino through the Fremont Union High School District’s Adult Education department and is an active member in Ikebana International San Francisco Bay Area Chapter and the Ikebana Teachers Federation.

It was 1999 and Connie’s colleague had brought her Ikebana arrangement to the work. That was the moment that opened Connie’s eyes to the art of flower arranging. Since then, she has enjoyed Ikebana immensely and realized there are infinite ways flowers fill us with hope and beauty.
